It’s time to hand out awards!
Numerous awards were received by the San Clemente Garden Club and by individual Club Members. The awards were presented at the California Garden Clubs Convention in June 2019 for the 2017 - 2018 garden club year. Applications are submitted by the 300 clubs and 20,000 members in California Garden Clubs, Inc.
The San Clemente Garden Club also presented recognition awards to some of our own members.

Launa gould - woman of the year
San Clemente Garden Club’s own Launa Gould was awarded one of the highest, most coveted awards—Woman of the Year— in recognition of services on behalf of the objectives of California Garden Clubs, Inc. (CGCI). Most previous winners have been former CGCI presidents.
Launa has been involved with the San Clemente Garden Club since 2003 and has worked tirelessly in just about every capacity. She has held several chairmanships at the state level, most recently on the Executive Committee as CGCI Financial Secretary.

Launa was surprised and honored at the California Garden Clubs, Inc. Convention when she was selected as the recipient of the Woman of the Year award at the June 2019 event.

The Garden Trellis, our monthly newsletter, won two first place awards, thanks to Jim Proett’s diligent work each month chasing down articles and compiling the newsletter.

first place - garden tour
Winning first place in the Garden Tour category for the State of California was the 2018 Garden Tour. The tour featured three unique gardens.
Serving as Committee Chair for the garden tour was KK Ciruli.
