The owners of this cottage-style home in Forster Ranch had always dreamed of creating a home from the ground up. They took a 1200 square foot home, gutted and enlarged it, and added a large front porch. They hired a landscape designer to tear out the existing lawn and replace it with eco-friendly cottage style plants like lavender, roses and other colorful plants.

You’ll find a lemon tree in the backyard that adds a pop of color too. An herb garden on the side of the home provides fresh herbs for the kitchen year-round.

The backyard is designed for entertaining with a rose covered arbor, fountain and a sunken fire pit overlooking the peaceful mountain view. Now from the much-used front porch they can enjoy a garden that is packed with color and is a haven for birds and butterflies. And the backyard oasis creates an enjoyable garden to sit down with your favorite beverage and take in the view and the sights and sounds of nature.
