Meet the Team

  • Advertising Design

    Lisa Spinelli

    creates all the Club’s advertising and collateral materials in both digital and print formats. She brings Club activities to life with the banners, brochures, postcards, flyers, and advertisements she designs. With a background in art and digital design, she has years of experience running her own business in San Clemente. She is a valued team player, always bringing new ideas to the club.

  • Corresponding Secretary

    Carol Glasheen

    professionally maintains all correspondence for the club as a contributing member of the SCGC Executive Committee. Having owned her own agency in the past, she contributes valuable insights in many Club communication matters.

  • Email Communications

    Diane Murico

    creates email communications that are the most effective way to get information out to club members. She ensures Club emails comply with current best practices. Under Diane’s leadership, the SCGC has implemented new procedures for email campaigns and campaign measurement tools to ensure deliverability and effectiveness from knowledge gained from her career in corporate marketing and advertising.

  • Newsletter

    Jim Proett

    designs the Garden Trellis, the club newsletter that under Jim’s guidance has won both State and National awards! An enormous responsibility that includes the design and layout of articles and pictures from numerous sources into print-ready format on a deadline, he ensures the Garden Trellis newsletter is developed and distributed 10 months of the year. Prior to his retirement, Jim had a long career in the US Military.

  • Photography Co-Chair

    Kim Neal

    takes photos at Club events for use in promotional pieces, the website, and the Garden Trellis newsletter. Photos of SCGC club members can be found in the many snapshots contained within the photo albums on the website. She enjoys photography as a hobby and her photos can be found on the photo albums webpage where, you might just find yourself in one of them.

  • Photography Co-Chair

    Lisa Spinelli

    is the resource to draw upon for photo editing requirements and is the photography expert within the San Clemente Garden Club. Lisa’s photography perspective is a huge asset to the club and her knowledge of Photoshop ensures that all photos can be used across the various formats. The SCGC is fortunate to have this expertise within the club.

  • Promotional Facilitation Co-Chair

    Deborah Spang

    plans all aspects of the Club’s promotional and social events. From securing venues and vendor support to planning entertainment and menus, she brings years of event management to the SCGC. She shares insights and ideas to move the club forward. Deborah joined the club a few years ago when she relocated to San Clemente and immediately became involved with various committees.

  • Promotional Facilitation Co-Chair

    Liz Roll

    is a recent transplant to San Clemente. She comes to us from the corporate world, but has also worked for non-profits both professionally and as a volunteer. She has a love of plants and animals. The San Clemente Garden Club is fortunate that she joined us when she found her new home!

  • Social Media Advertising

    Kim Neal

    brought her years of experience in Marketing to the SCGC. During the planning for the 2023 SCGC’s Garden Tour, the largest fundraiser of the year, Kim implemented and launched a successful social media targeted advertising campaign. The club hopes to build upon the success of that campaign in the future.

  • Social Media Postings

    Catherine Hall

    manages the Facebook account for the SCGC. She ensures that club and event information is communicated to club members and the public. If you haven’t started following the SCGC’s Facebook page, do it now, you don’t want to miss out on any of the information she posts on-line.

  • Website

    Kim Neal

    has built a website that captures everything from the history of the club and its founder to the current events and activities. She ensures that the website is continually updated to act as a resource for club members to utilize when seeking club information. In 2013, she added an online store and cart functionality to the website to streamline the payment and registration process for various club events.

  • Membership Yearbook

    Jim Proett

    has taken on the monumental task of gathering the information and putting together the annual Membership Yearbook. Not to be outdone by the awards bestowed upon the Newsletter he produces, Jim has won coveted National and State Membership Yearbook awards from the National Garden Clubs, Inc. and California Garden Clubs, Inc. year after year.
