Beach Cleanup, Rain or Shine! We had a committed group of Eco Warriors cleaning up our beaches despite the wet rainy weather. There was more trash than usual on May 30th due to the Memorial Day weekend. Also, because of the rain, we witnessed firsthand how litter and other nasties come straight out to the beach through the storm drains, right where the surfers are. Gross. The Eco Warriors had an interesting day on April 24 at Calafia Beach, encountering all sorts of interesting sea creatures, and also picking up bits of plastic, styrofoam, food packaging, ugh. Fortunately, our warriors were up to the task! Participating in the beach cleanup were: Matt Duncan, Marta , Fred, Lee, Kieu Doan, Tom Benton, Weej Baggaley, Lesley . Not pictured: Lynn Wolf
